26.3.20 – Ceòl

Madainn mhath a charaidean,

Tha mi an-dòchas gu bheil sibh math an-diugh!

I will be posting future lessons on a new Youtube channel that I am currently setting up. There, pupils and their families can join in with progressive weekly music lessons that are tailored for each year group. I will be adding new videos every Monday morning so that you can access the lesson whenever it suits you through the week.

In the meantime, here are another few NYCOS videos.  I will continue to post these daily. These videos are suitable for all the family, fantastic for developing musicianship and great fun! Enjoy!

Day 2 – Have You Ever, Ever, Ever

Today’s activity is a fun song suitable for ages 7 up with either long or short legs! Have you ever, ever, ever is a mi re do song adapted from Go for Bronze.

Once you’ve got the hang of it you can add your own verses with different words and actions. Let us know what you come up with by posting your own video with actions using the hashtag #NYCOSdaily.

The songsheet for this game is available at: Have You Ever, Ever, Ever

Day 3 – Reuben, Reuben

Today we have a traditional folksong from America. ‘Reuben, Reuben’ is a simple song but with quite a complicated clapping pattern suitable for ages 9 to 99.

You can personalise the song by changing the names. It’s easy if you know someone with a two-syllable name.

We’d love to see you singing this song, post your video using the hashtag #NYCOSdaily.

The songsheet for this game is available at: Reuben, Reuben

And don’t forget to check out Ollie’s channel for fantastic and fun body percussion routines!
