Thank you to everyone for engaging with our Home Learning so enthusiastically. We have been delighted to hear how well this has been working for many of you, and to see some of the learning that you have been busy with. We know that families have been working together on this, often in difficult circumstances, and this is much appreciated.
The next step is for us to develop a regular habit where all learners share pieces of work with their teachers each week, and teachers give individual feedback to their learners. We can’t do this for every piece of work, but we will be doing it for some.
This will mean that learners will be better supported to make progress with their learning and teachers will have a better picture of how each learner is doing. This information will also help the teachers to write their yearly reports.
We want to start this week, with all C1 learners sending in a piece of literacy work by uploading it to their Learning Journal Profile.
Here are the details:
We would like for you to please send in a photo of the learner’s creation of a character from the story of An Gruffalo, this is one of the tasks outlined in Tuesday’s activities. Please take a photo of your character and upload it to Learning Journals.
Upload your work by 9am on Friday morning
Your teachers will send you some feedback by Tuesday morning
Remember, everyone needs to do this. If you didn’t manage to create your character on Tuesday, you still have time. Just go onto the blog and look at the literacy task for Tuesday 28 April.
During our school week, every pupil usually participates in two hours of Physical Education. Led by PE specialists and/or class teachers, these activities normally include a range of sports, games and physical activities. We recognise that it is very challenging to recreate this in a home setting.
To help our pupils and their parents/carers, we have created this PE Home Learning booklet to give everyone an opportunity to take part in a variety of PE experiences, encouraging you to keep active and explore different areas of PE and sport at this difficult time.
Please remember to check the information from the Scottish Government on use of public places before attempting to use outdoor spaces.
Hoping this is helpful.

Mar phàirt de ‘Sun Awareness Week’, thàinig a Bh’Uas Cowell-Smith (mamaidh Arley agus Eryn) a-steach an t-seachdainn seo a bhruidhinn rinn mu dheidhinn a bhith cumail sàibhailte is fallain anns a’ ghrèin. Dh’innse i dhuinn mu cho cudthromach ‘s a tha e leigheas grèine agus ad a chleachdadh nuair a tha a’ ghrian ann. ‘S e ‘SPLAT, HAT, WRAP!’ abairt an là.
