Eacarsaich airson do làmhan – an activity to develop fine motor skills

Hai a chàirdean!

Seo eacarsaich airson do chuideachadh le sgilean-làimhe an t-seachdain seo:

Feumaidh tu:  pìos pàipear (tha seann chèis no pìos pàipear ‘scrap’ math airson seo)

peansailean / pinn  (2 no 3 diofar dathan)

siosar (ma tha siosar freagarrach agad)

Gnìomh:  Dèan cumadh le loidhne lùbach air a’ phàipear.  Faodaidh tu cumadh  sam bith a dhèanamh, ach na dèan e ro bheag. (dealbh 1)

Dèan an aon loidhne a-rithist le dath diofraichte.  Feuch seo le 2 no 3 diofar dathan. (dealbh 2) (Faodaidh tu dath a chur air a’ chumadh ma thogras tu.)

Ma tha siosar freagarrach agad, geàrr a-mach an cumadh.  Feuch gun cùm thu air an loidhne. Tionndaidh am pìos pàipear airson a dhèanamh nas fhasa dhut a gheàrradh. (dealbh 3)

Dh’ fhaodadh tu seo a dhèanamh le diofar cumaidhean.   Nuairsin dh’ fhaodadh tu na cumaidhean a chleachdadh gus dealbh a chruthachadh! (dealbh 4)

Here is a wee exercise to help you develop hand skills this week:

You will need: a piece of paper (an old envelope or piece of scrap paper is good for this)

Pencils / pens (2 or 3 different colours)

                             A pair of scissors (optional)

Activity:  Draw a shape with a wavy line on the paper.  Any shape is fine as long as it’s not too small (picture 1).

Draw over the same line with a different colour.  Try this with 2 or 3 different colours (picture 2). (You can colour in the shape if you want to.)

If you have a suitable pair of scissors, cut round the shape, trying to stay as close to the line as possible.  Turn the piece of paper as you cut to make it easier for you.

You could try this with different shapes and use the shapes to make a picture! (picture 4)

Fuaimean bh agus mh

Seo rann le facail a’ tòiseachadh leis na fuaimean bh agus mh.  Èist ris an rann anns a’ bhideo agus nuairsin leugh e leat fhèin.   An urrainn dhut na facail bhan agus mhòr a sgrìobhadh gun a bhith a’ coimhead air an rann a-rithist?  Siuthad, feuch e!

Here is a poem with words beginning with the sounds bh and mh.  Listen to the poem on the video and then read it yourself.  Can you write the words bhan and mhòr without looking back at the poem?  Try it and see!

Support for Learning During School Closure

From tomorrow (Tuesday 24th of March) the Learning Support teachers will share literacy activities for your child via Parent Mail.  These activities may involve reading, common words and or phonics.  These activities are intended as suggestions.  We recognise that everyone’s home situation is different and that each family can only do what is manageable in their particular circumstances.    It may be that you decide to just concentrate on the class literacy and numeracy issued by teachers or you may prefer to prioritise the Learning Support activities.  Please do not feel additional pressure or stress for what can or cannot be done.  If you need to contact us then please do so via the school admin email address.

Free Home Learning Support for Parents and Carers

free support site for parents and carers looking after children during the school closures.

Here, parents and carers can find free primary and secondary activities, tools and advice to support learning at home – including sample homeschool planners, primary reading and maths support, access to free eBooks at secondary, and much more.

In addition to this, we hope you’ve all had the opportunity to sign up for the free support we made available to schools earlier in the week. If not, you can access it, along with the latest information, on our webpages dedicated to supporting schools through coronavirus (Covid-19).
We’re working hard to provide a broad range of support, and will add to this bank of resources over the coming days as our teams develop more, and as we learn together with you, parents and students what type of support is most needed and useful.
To help keep us in touch with parents and carers during this time, please do ask your parent communities to follow us on Twitter at @pearsonparents, and on our Pearson Primary Facebook page. They can also sign up on the free support site to receive updates as more information and support becomes available.
