C1p have a wonderful week playing together after our holidays. Excitingly we’ve begun several new topics – we began learning about money today, recognising coins and on Wednesday we began our new topic on plants and growth. The children are absolutely loving looking at cress seeds germinating under a magnifying class and we all got a shot of planting a need in soil this week. Best of all we took a trip in the sunshine yesterday to the park to spot all the new life growing.
The Edinburgh Local Mòd is taking place on 27th and 28th May this year and C1 are busy practising a poem and song which they could perform in the competition.

B’ e an-diugh an latha mu dheireadh air an sgeulachd Òireach agus na Trì Mathain. Rinn sinn drama is mhadainn is chuir sinn an sgeulachd air òrdugh.
Tha an clas air crìoch a chuir air na fuaimean singilte a-nis. Ma tha thu airson barrachd a dhèanamh leis na fuaimean singilte aig an taigh seo bhidio de gach fuaim agus gnìomh; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vozcc8uPUVs
Ann am matamataig tha sinn ag obair air a bhith ag aithneachadh àireamhan agus dhan chur an òrdugh bho 0-30.
Today was our last day working on Òireach agus na Trì Mathain. We performed the story for the class today and placed the story in order.
C1P have completed their single sounds now. If you’d like to do more work on these at home here is a wee video with them all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vozcc8uPUVs
In maths we are busy recognising numerals, placing 0-30 in order and working on holding numbers in our heads as we count on.
A bharrachd air a sin bha a’ chlas ag ionnsachadh ainmean buill-cuirp sa Ghàidhlig, àireamhan a’ dèanamh ann an dòighean dhiofraichte le corragan, a’ cur àireamhan ann an ordugh, a’ cuthachadh mapa-sgeulachd agus na fuaimean e agus è.
C1P had the joy of being the audience for C6’s pirate performance in the playground this morning. They had been learning about Grace O’Malley the pirate queen for International Women’s Day.
This week C1 were learning how to keep themselves safe with help from Pantosauraus, they absolutely loved the song which you can watch at home here:
In other news we’ve been learning parts of the body in Gaelic, making numbers in different ways on our fingers, putting numbers in order, creating a story map and the sounds e agus è.
An t-seachdain, thòisich sinn an sgeulachd ur againn – Òireach agus na Trì Mathain agus chruthaich sinn ceistean ‘carson’ ma dheidhinn. Carson a bha Òireach a’ coiseachd a’ steach dhan taigh, ag ithe brochan, a’ suidhe san t-seithear agus a’ cadal anns an leabaidh? Carson gu dearbh? Tha c1P den bheachd gu bheil i gòrach, Òireach gòrach!
A bharrachd air a sin rinn sinn sgilean co-òrdanachadh sùil/làmh le Mgr Angell ann an spòrs, thòisich sinn cuspair ùr againn air ‘Ar Bodhaig’ agus rinn sinn na fuaimean u agus ù. Chuir sinn crìoch air co-chothromachd le bhith a’ cruthachadh pàtrain agus a’ peantadh dealain-dè.
Abair seachdain trang!
We’ve been awfully busy this week in C1P, we began our new text Òireach agus na Trì Mathain agus we asked ‘carson’ questions about the text. We also began our new topic on ‘Ar Bodhaig’. We finished up our symmetry topic by creating patterns and painting butterflies. Mr Angell took us for sports where we worked on hand eye co-ordination. We also learnt the sounds u agus ù.
